Q: Does Weddings by Sinful Cheesecake Company ship Wedding Cheesecakes?
A: We are sorry to report that we currently do not ship Cheesecakes or the cake dummies.
Q: Do you ship Wedding Cheesecakes?
A: No. First, because of the above shipping difficulties. And, second because the decorated cakes are so fragile. We are not willing to risk shipment.
Q: How long can Cheesecakes be refrigerated?
A: We recommend only one week in the refrigerator and no longer.
Q: How long can Cheesecakes be frozen?
A: Up to 3 months.
Q: What is the average cost for a wedding with about 200 guests?
A: Though there are many variables to a wedding estimate... dependant upon whether or not there is a tiered/iced/decorated cake and how detailed the design is... we often tell Brides that the average cost starts at $365 for an all Cheesecake wedding with no iced cake to serve 200. Which makes the per serving price about $1.80 per serving. With the addition of an iced/tiered/decorated cake... you can add $100 to $400 to the total...
Q: Do you charge a delivery charge for weddings?
A: Although most wedding deliveries are within our free delivery area... Occasionally a wedding will be outside our delivery area & we need to charge a fee. Although, should the wedding require more than an hour of travel... then, there will be a larger fee based on time that our staff will be on the road.
Q: Can I pick up my Cheesecakes?
A: Yes. We have had several couples pick up their wedding/party order. We just need to pre-arrange a pick up time with you to be sure that your order is packaged and ready to go. We recommend placing the Cheesecakes in coolers if you are going to be going a distance with them or if it is warm/humid outside.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are in Hudsonville, Michigan. Which is mid-way between Grand Rapids and Holland.
Q: Why don't you have your address on your web site?
A: We operate from a State licensed kitchen in our home and therefore do consultations/pick-ups by appointment only.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: We just celebrated our 7th year in the Cheesecake business and our 5th year doing weddings!
Q: When you deliver my Wedding Cheesecakes/Cheesecakes, how do you transport them?
A: We package all our Cheesecakes in heavy duty corrugated, food safe boxes. Then we place the boxes in our coolers with ice packs.
Q: Can I sample specific flavors at a Consultation/Tasting?
A: We always we feed you when you come for a consultation and tasting. And, we are aware that traditional cake bakers often provide samples of desired flavors at a tasting. But, due to the cost of supplies for Cheesecake and our limited storage space, we aren't able to offer a variety of flavors at a tasting. Our goal is to keep our over head low so we can keep our pricing competitive which benefits you. With all that said, we often sample our Plain Cheesecake as it is the base for all our other flavors.
Q: What are your hours?
A: Since we operate from a State Licensed kitchen in our home. We have no set hours. Our hours are by appointment. Our phone hours are Monday thru Saturday. Please leave a voicemail if you do not reach us. We will get back to you!
Q: How many weddings do you schedule a weekend?
A: No more than two. One on Friday and one on Saturday. Although, in the past we have scheduled two smaller weddings on the same day.
Q: Who will deliver my Wedding Cheesecakes/Cheesecakes?
A: For weddings we will send our professional, trained staff. Our staff has only the success of your event in mind. We have worked with many local venues and are familiar with their requirements. Our staff has been trained in wedding set up and delivery and I would trust no one else with our business. For our daily deliveries you will get the same courteous and dependable staff.
Q: Do you sell Cheesecakes to people who want them for something other than weddings?
A: Effective August 16, 2009 Sinful Cheesecake Company will be Weddings by Sinful Cheesecake Company. We will now only provide our Cheesecakes for Weddings and Parties!
Q: Can I re-freeze your Cheesecakes?
A: Yes. But, we recommend wrapping them in plastic wrap and putting them back into their boxes and wrapping the boxes with plastic wrap to keep odors from permeating the Cheesecake. Do not freeze Cheesecakes with fruit toppings (fresh or pie type fillings) as the fruit gets yucky. If you want to freeze the Cheesecake, remove the fruit topping. Cheesecakes can be frozen for up to three months.
Q: Can I save the top to my Wedding Cheesecake for my one year anniversary?
A: NO! Please DO NOT do this... Weddings by Sinful Cheesecake Company provides you with a fresh baked 6" Cheesecake on your one year wedding anniversary. Just drop us an e-mail with your flavor choice about two weeks prior to your Anniversary and we will arrange with you for pick up.
Q: How many servings do I get out of a 10" Cheesecake?
A: Sixteen pre-cut, ample sized slices from a 10". Eight slices from a 6". The 10" Cheesecake is the only size that comes pre-sliced. There is a $2 per Cheesecake cutting fee for all other sizes.
Q: What are your best selling flavors?
A: White Chocolate Raspberry Swirl is number one. Then, Plain, Key Lime, Turtle and Strawberry.
Q: Do I need to order in advance?
A: Yes. We like AT LEAST four weeks lead time. After all... we want to get you the freshest Cheesecake possible.
Q: Do you require a deposit to reserve my wedding date or party with you? If so, how much?
A: Yes. We require a 50% deposit to hold open your wedding date for you. The 50% is based on the estimated total for your order. We adjust the end balance for the final payment which is due no later than 14 days prior to your event.
Q: What are my payment options for my Wedding Cheesecakes/Party Order?
A: We accept personal checks (made payable to Sinful Cheesecake Company), Money Order, Cashiers Check or you can pay by Credit Card or Debit Card. If you choose to pay by Credit Card or Debit Card... we only process Credit Cards through our web site via PayPal. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Wedding Payments may be made on our "Payments" page. Please be sure to note your names and your wedding date when making a payment so we can credit the right account.
Q: I made a payment online. How do I know it was received?
A: First, you will get a payment confirmation from PayPal. But, you will receive an e-mail from us letting you know we received your payment.
